Creating Corporate Logos For Construction Companies

Friday, July 3rd, 2009

The construction arena is growing more and more competitive. More established organizations handle the major development projects while smaller and newer companies must demonstrate their quality with various subcontracts before moving on to bigger ones.

My design agency has just been awarded an assignment to produce a new construction logo design for a local construction business. To start things off, the art director and I paid a visit to our client’s office for a short interview to gather more information about the company.

Like many other organizations we have surveyed, most companies realize they need a new image to compete but are not exactly sure what they want. That is where our services can make a positive impact.

Before beginning work on the logo design, we commonly inquire about the history of the firm, its turnover, its goals, its specialty, its target market and why it wants a new construction logo design; just to get a better feel of things.

We learned that they are a relatively young firm, 8 years in the business with 4 large subcontract projects and many minor ones under their belts, each one more costly than the last. They are now preparing to adopt a blue ocean strategy and endeavor into eco-friendly medium cost suburban development - a niche with few competitors - and therefore seizing the opportunity to build a reputation for themselves as one of the first names to engage this niche.

From the interview, we discovered that they have the needed resources to handle medium scale development projects. Their chosen niche also makes it easier to distinguish them from other developers.

At our office, we had a typical brainstorming session and charted our art direction. From there we assigned 4 designers to produce individual interpretations or logo samples to turn those creative ideas to logo designs.

After several days, the initial designs were ready for perusal. Some designs employed the use of stylized text while others used construction related graphics like wheelbarrows and bricks to get the point across. Although all 4 construction logo design samples were unique in their own way, they all kept to to 2 crucial points.

Professionalism
Developers deal with multimillion dollar projects. As a prerequisite to be awarded such projects, they must always be seen as a professional and responsible entity with admirable business ethics. Hence, the clean and clear designs reflected that appropriately.

Eco-Friendliness
This is the niche this organization is determined to penetrate. Not surprisingly, the designs, either by color or graphics, corroborates the company’s dedication to the preservation of the environment.

Now it is up to our clients to make a decision on the designs. However they can make minor changes but as professional designers, we must make sure that the design eventually keeps to the key points expressed earlier.

Logo Design Price - A Brief Introduction

Friday, July 3rd, 2009

The market for business logo designs is a rather competitive one indeed. Various logo design firms promote a wide choice of design packages to satisfy different customer criteria and budgets.

With such a large number of options to select from, the question commonly asked is how much should one pay for a decent company logo design.

In general, logo design price ranges from as little as $30 to thousands of dollars. Obviously the more you pay the more extras you would see coming your way. But to aid you to come to a decision on which logo design price would better accommodate your needs, have a look at the guide below.

Below $100 Logo
These logos may be cheap but the good design quality has astonished many. But a little homework is needed to ensure you get the best company logo designers at this price bracket. This range is better suited for customers who want their logos fast with as little interaction as possible on a small budget.

$100 - $1000 Range
If you have a bit of spare change and a little time, you can afford to employ logo designers who are more service oriented. The custom logo design quality is comparable to those in the sub $100 logo design price range. Having said that, they provide a more personal approach when dealing with clients. They gladly take the time to speak to customers about their needs.

$1000 - $5000 Range
Traditional corporate logo designers commonly charge this amount for their work. They spend a considerable amount of time looking to get as much relevant info as possible before producing a logo. Their study of your firm, competitors, merchandise and target groups would enable them to advise you on what look and feel you should choose. I would recommend this category to anyone who might be able to it. The probability of the company logo designs being of greater quality than those in the first two categories is highly likely plus you get valuable advice in addition.

$5000 and More
This range befits those who want to launch branding campaigns. Branding companies create logos as part of a corporate identity creation exercise. Every single logo is given along with a a thick blueprint that will contain the logo rationale, logo dimensions and logo usage conditions. The inclusion of the blueprint does wonders to the perceived quality of the logo designs. This option is more suited for large international organizations who have the budget for the purpose of branding and rebranding themselves and their merchandise.

Before you come to a decision, it is always best to take a bit of time and asses what you really need. If you are just starting out, chances are that you would be on a very small budget. It is perfectly normal to opt for an affordable logo designer provided you do some research. Visit logo design sites and have a look at their logo samples. If they can provide what you need at this particular time for a fee that would not burden finances, then it could be an option you should really give some thought to.

Dave Kilmanrock has been in the advertising industry for the past 15 years. He has contributed many articles on branding. He believes you should always opt for the logo design price that offers the best value for money.

How To Gain Weight The Healthy Way: The Things You Should Avoid In Gaining Your Weight

Thursday, July 2nd, 2009

<!– @page { size: 8.5in 11in; margin: 0.79in } P { margin-bottom: 0.08in } –>

You might have heard of those bizarre tips on gaining weight that have been advised to you by some of the people around you. Even though many follow these methods to achieve their goals, these are nothing more than wrong ideas that you should avoid and what you should do instead is to go for those methods on how to gain weight the healthy way. Now, what are these bizarre tips anyway? Here are some of those that I suppose you might have heard of at some point in your life.

Bizarre Tip No. 1: Gaining More And More Calories Is Great For Gaining Weight

If you’d look at this tip, you might say that this would make sense, right? But the reality is that it’s only partially true. You should know that foods vary in terms of the calories that they possess… and this means that they have different effects when they reach your system. As food would then go to your bloodstream after being consumed, they can end up affecting you healthily or unhealthily! So, instead of just eating up just about anything with calories, carefully pick up first the food before adding them up to your list.

Bizarre Tip No. 2: Taking Up More Carbs Are Effective For Gaining Your Weight

It might be right to say that food with carbs such as white toast, frosted flakes, pasta, etc., can add up to your weight… but truth be told, this is quite unhealthy for your part. Why? It’s because eating these foods with refined carbs can result to the endangerment of your health (setting you up as a “candidate” for coronary heart diseases, diabetes and certain cancers) as well as leading you to a quite unattractive body figure.

Bizarre Tip No. 3: Eating Fatty Foods Is The Way To Go For Weight Gain

Now, this one is a big no-no! This is very, very wrong and will put your health in grave danger! You see, if you consume a lot of these kinds of foods, what will happen is that the fats will clog up your arteries (which can cause heart diseases in the process). Eating these fats does not mean that they’ll stay within your system, and even if a part of them do, getting them to where you think they should go in your body is unlikely to occur!

Bizarre Tip No. 4: If You’re One Of Those With Fast Metabolism, Eat More Food And Build Up Your Muscle To Gain Weight

As for eating more food, it might work out for some, but the reality is that for some of those individuals their fast metabolism, they just end up dissolving and dissolving the food they have consumed even before they get filled up! As for putting up more muscles, this is kind of awkward for a woman like you, right? You wouldn’t want to look more muscular than your husband or boyfriend. You see, to gain weight efficiently without bulking up your appearance, you need to combine some methods which would require you to exercise, but won’t ask you to put up some muscles in your body.

Bizarre Tip No. 5: Just Sit Down There All Day Long And There You Have It… You Gain Weight Instantly!

Now, this would again depend on an individual’s metabolism. It might work for some people, but those who are naturally skinny people will just in the end suffer from the lack of motion and activity, which could affect their goals negatively in gaining the weight they want to have.

So, you have now realized that these tips and methods are things that you should really avoid in the first place. Now, if you want to have the weight that you aim for, turn to those safe and effective guides on how to gain weight naturally and the healthy way so that you’ll be able to achieve a healthier and a more attractive figure!

Logo Design For Professional Practices: Is It Absolutely Necessary?

Thursday, July 2nd, 2009

Do professional practices really need professionally designed logos? Or is the name on the signboard adequate?

The arrival of the internet has brought about numerous changes in the manner we go about our daily activities. We carry out research without visiting libraries, we settle payments without setting a foot outside and we shop without having to stand in long queues. But unfortunately there are just some things that need us to leave the comfort of our homes.

The District of Columbia has an estimated 1.044 dentists per 1000 citizens, which is the greatest number of dentists per capita anywhere in the US. Some dentists are more famous than others and can boast very lengthy appointment lists.

Dentist appointments have often been affiliated with pain. The sonic pitch of the drill is often more than sufficient to send shivers down the spines of quite a few grownups. If you check out dental sites on the internet, you would have noticed that there are commonly images of smiley people greeting visitors. These sites hardly promote the latest technology by displaying the latest drill in their arsenal.

People have a tendency to select dentists via recommendations. Having said that, if you were to ask 10 different people, you would receive 10 different suggestions. How might dental practices then differentiate themselves?

Visual imagery has long been a crucial marketing tool and is often used in logo designs. It is presently being put to use in professional services as well. A dental logo design can be used to portray many things. Firstly, a dental logo design must entail that the logo itself is that of a dental practitioner. Secondly, the dental logo design must emanate an element of professionalism. Smooth lines, comforting colors and non aggressive designs all play a role in convincing a potential patient that this is exactly the place to be.

The logo design can be modified in such a manner that it could appeal to certain target markets. Some dental surgeons specialize in child patients while others prefer adults. The dental logo design could also be created to promote a specific procedure such as teeth whitening, veneers, smile makeovers or any other cosmetic or dental procedure.

In addition, it does not cost a bundle to get professional creative logo designers to create an original dental logo design. Truth be told, a typical online logo design price is practically the same as the cost a normal teeth cleaning procedure.

With the competition increasing, it has become very obvious that clean and professional looking logo designs are indeed crucial to professional practices.

Rex Hunter has been in the business of branding and public relations for over 15 years. He has written extensively on the subject of logo design and logo design price.
